Hours adder and subtractor
Hours do not add up decimally: 2 hours 45 minutes plus 1 hour 30 minutes is 4 hours 15 minutes, not 4.75 in clock format. The tool adds up to five intervals and gives the total in both formats.
For subtraction, use negative values in the hours field. The decimal total is what goes into invoices and most timesheet systems.

How do I convert 45 minutes to decimal?
Divide by 60: 45 minutes is 0.75 hours. A quarter hour is 0.25, and 20 minutes is 0.33.
Why does my spreadsheet show something else?
Because there hours are fractions of a day. 2:45 is stored as 0.1146, and summing without correct formatting gives odd results.
How do I count a shift that crosses midnight?
Add 24 hours to the end time before subtracting, or calculate the part before midnight and the part after separately.
