Celebration and Faith
Immediately after results were announced, Mazzei thanked President Trump publicly. He credited the president with helping him cross the finish line. Thirty-eight thousand people joined a phone call Monday night. The event included remarks from the federal executive. Facing supporters in Tulsa, Mazzei invoked Christian faith. He said it gave him strength after a severe car accident in 2008. He promised the Bible would guide his administrative decisions.
„If you had told me ten years ago that I would stand here today as the Republican nominee, you would not have believed it,” he admitted. He added that his story proves all things are possible with God.
Looking Ahead to November
Mazzei, sixty-one, founded an investment management firm. He served as a state senator for twelve years. He is considered the favorite to replace Governor Kevin Stitt. Stitt will end his term soon. He is also a target of Trump’s criticism. In November, Mazzei will face Democrat Cyndi Munson. She is the minority leader in the Oklahoma House. A Democrat has not held this office since 2006.
Although Mazzei praised his opponent as a „fierce competitor,” Drummond conceded defeat. Drummond, sixty-two, is a farmer, lawyer, and former Air Force pilot. He was elected attorney general in 2022. He insisted they do not abandon their convictions. He challenged Mazzei to meet working families, farmers, teachers, and police officers.
