Houthi Claim of Strike on Saudi Aramco Facility Amid Escalating Yemen Conflict
Houthi Claim of Aramco Strike in Riyadh
On October 4, 2026, a Houthi military wallet posted on X that it launched ballistic missiles and drones at an Aramco facility in Riyadh. The statement, issued by military spy Yahya Saree, said the strike was „precise and direct,” causing visible fires. Saudi authorities have not confirmed an attack, and Aramco has not issued an official comment.

Saudi‑Backed Coalition Counter‑Operations
The coalition led by Saudi Arabia reported 97 targeted attacks against Houthi positions on the Tor al‑Baha front and the Taiz axis on October 3. Using warplanes, drones, artillery, rockets, and elite snipers, the coalition aimed to hit at least 260 Houthi fighters and disable 44 military vehicles, according to Colonel Majed Abdullah al‑Nazili.
Earlier Houthi Attacks on Aramco Sites
In recent weeks, the Houthis intensified operations, targeting an Aramco facility in Yanbu, a western Saudi port. Saudi Arabia claimed it intercepted six ballistic missiles aimed at Taif and Yanbu, reporting no damage to Aramco installations. The coalition also mentioned a Houthi attack on an electricity plant in Medina.
Escalation of the Yemen Conflict
The Yemen war, which began in 2014 when the Houthis seized Sana’a, has worsened since a fragile ceasefire collapsed in July 2022. In September, Houthis captured the port city of Mocha and the strategic Bab al‑Mandeb straits, a key global oil route. Anti‑Houthi forces have since stabilized front lines, but the conflict has displaced hundreds of thousands.
Impact on Regional Stability
The conflict has caused a humanitarian disaster with many casualties and widespread displacement. Rising tensions between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, coupled with attacks on Riyadh’s energy facilities, may signal a new phase of warfare that threatens regional stability and security.
